Tradition Three: “The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using.” Basic Text, page 65.

The above picture was taken inside the C.O.R. Building. C.O.R. stands for Concentrate On Recovery. The picture is to show you the Chair Persons point of view.  All She or He is doing is just showing up, making coffee, passing out our readings, and trying their best to keep the meeting topic on Recovery.

Narcotics Anonymous does not employ special people to chair our meetings. The Seventh Tradition is optional; it’s your choice, if you want to put a dollar in the basket or not. Our meetings are chaired by Addicts for Addicts.

As you can see we don’t sit in a big circle in matching chairs like you would see at a treatment center. We are regular people with a drug problem. So Many of us have lost so much because of our addiction and yet, this room can become home. The rooms are filled with recovering addicts that actually care about us. They know us because they lived it. We keep saying things like; “Keep coming back!, We can’t keep what we have unless we give it away.”

There is so much more to it than what you have just read. Come on in, get some coffee and make a meeting and see for yourself.

Tradition Two: “For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority – a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.” Basic Text, page 63
